Should I consider buying a luxury timepiece from a online based store?

I would not consider that for several reasons. High end luxury watches, the manufacturers of those particular watches do not authorize their products to be sold on the internet. Therefore, when you do locate one on the internet, its from a secondary source which if your not exactly sure what your buying I certainly wouldn't venture an that avenue. I would go to your authorized dealer to buy any kind of luxury high end watch.

An experience that I've had was with a lady that purchased one on the internet. She was told that it was five years old. She brought it in to have us do some work on it because it was causing her some problems. Once we took the bracelet off the watch to check the serial number not only did we find out the watch was twenty-five years old but it was also a conversion watch. A conversion watch is when someone takes an all stainless steel watch and starts adding various parts to it to make it look like something that it was not meant to be. All counterfeit parts, therefore, when you have a product like that no one will work on it because of the unauthorized parts on that particular watch. Not only did the lady waste her money buying this particular watch she had no repercussions because she bought it on the internet and paid for it in full. So she was out the watch and out the money as well. Furthermore, you cannot get any type of warranty from an authorized luxury watch dealer at all on the internet. Because once again, they do not sell their products on the internet so therefore, I would not even bother even looking on the internet for a high end luxury watch.
